Yuan Shoulong, a 1985 alumnus of our school majoring in acupuncture and moxibustion, served as the leader of the Chinese figure skating team at the Winter Olympics. on the evening of February 19, the Chinese team of Sui Wenjing/Han Cong won the Beijing Winter Olympics figure skating pairs championship with a total score of 239.88 points, setting a season's best score of 155.47 points in the pairs skating free skating competition held at the Capital Stadium. This is the ninth gold medal won by the Chinese delegation at this year's Winter Olympics. With this gold medal, the Chinese delegation also created the best results in the history of the Winter Olympics.

Sui Wenjing and Han Cong have represented China's figure skating team for many years. 4 years ago at the Pyeongchang Winter Olympics, Sui Wenjing/Han Cong stood on the Winter Olympics for the first time. Due to Sui's toe injury, they lost to the German team by 0.43 points and passed the gold medal. After the Pyeongchang Winter Olympics, Sui had surgery for a fatigue fracture in her right foot and missed most of the season. Han Cong, on the other hand, underwent hip surgery in April 2020. Faced with the test of injury, Sui said, "Our physical conditions are not one of the best in the world, and we have come this far because we have put in more effort than normal."

Yuan Shoulong graduated from our university in 1985 with a degree in acupuncture and moxibustion and is a doctor of sports training from Beijing Sports University and a postdoctoral fellow of control science from Tsinghua University. He has been the vice dean of the graduate school of Beijing Sports University, the deputy director of the Chinese Gymnastics Center, and the deputy director of the Office of the Chinese Olympic Committee for the preparation of the Olympic Games.
