On June 13, our University celebrated its 65th anniversary with the fifth Art Club Gala at the Shaoquan Lake Campus Student Activity Center. The event aimed to deepen the study and implementation of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, advancing the university's Art Club education reform, strengthening aesthetic education, and guiding students to embrace Chinese aesthetic values and socialist core values. The goal was to enhance students' aesthetic and cultural literacy. Xu Fan, the university's Party Committee Deputy Secretary and President, attended the gala alongside officials from the Teaching Supervision, Student Affairs Office, Publicity Department, Academic Affairs Office, and the Education and Teaching Quality Evaluation Center, as well as media reporters. They also served as judges for the performances. Faculty members from various secondary colleges, Art Club advisors, and students were present to watch the performances.

The event showcased the university's commitment to integrating artistic education with traditional Chinese medicine, enriching students' educational experience by combining artistic expression with their medical studies. This celebration not only marked the university's significant milestone but also highlighted its ongoing efforts to cultivate well-rounded students with a deep appreciation for the arts and humanities.

Xu Fan emphasized that the gala showcased the fusion of art and Chinese medicine, reflecting the success of the university's Art Club education reform. The performances revealed the multifaceted talents of students, who not only excel in medical and pharmaceutical studies but also in music and visual arts. This innovative approach enriches their educational experience, merging entertainment with learning, and fostering a broader vision and practical skills. The event also underscored the unique characteristics of Chinese medicine at the university. Xu Fan expressed hope for further advancements in the school's aesthetic education reform, contributing to an environment that nurtures and cultivates students through culture and art.

The gala featured a two-hour competition where the Reading Club's "Qiu Jin" won first prize, the International Students' "Divine Doctor Hua Tuo Recital" won second prize, and the Dance Club's "Unity of the Nine Provinces" took third prize. Since 2019, AHTCM has promoted Art Club education reform, emphasizing the "three integrations": combining ideological and political education with art education, merging art theory with aesthetic practice, and blending knowledge acquisition with aesthetic experience. This comprehensive approach aims to enhance students' cultural understanding, aesthetic perception, artistic expression, and creative practice, thereby enriching their spiritual and cultural lives.

The gala featured diverse artistic performances, illustrating the variety and depth of art while conveying profound ideological and humanistic messages. It guided students to appreciate national sentiment, national spirit, and social responsibility, serving as a practical example of educational reform. Moving forward, AHTCM will continue to deepen its implementation of Xi Jinping's cultural thought, advance comprehensive aesthetic education reform, and integrate ideological elements into art education. The goal is to cultivate idealistic, responsible, resilient, and hardworking young talents for China's modernization efforts.
