Delegation Led by State Secretary of the Ministry of Economy of the Slovak Republic Visits Our University

On the morning of September 23, a delegation led by Vladimír Simonak, State Secretary of the Ministry of Economy of the Slovak Republic, paid a friendly visit to our university. Xie Ruijin, Secretary of the Party Committee of the university, and Nie Jiusheng, Vice President of the university, warmly received the delegation. The two sides conducted in-depth discussions on TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine) education, scientific research and cultural exchanges. Relevant officials from the Foreign Affairs Office of Anhui Provincial People's Government, the Foreign Affairs Office of the university, the Social Cooperation Department and the First Clinical Medical College accompanied the visit.

On behalf of the university, Xie Ruijin first extended a warm welcome to the delegation and gave a detailed introduction to the university's history, disciplinary characteristics, talent cultivation, as well as achievements in international exchanges and cooperation. He stated that as an important base for TCM education, scientific research and medical care in Anhui Province, Anhui University of Chinese Medicine has always adhered to the concept of open education and actively promoted TCM to the world. At present, the university has established four TCM centers overseas. He expressed the hope that taking this delegation's visit as an opportunity, the university will establish connections with Slovakia in the fields of TCM education, scientific research and industry, explore potential cooperation opportunities, and jointly contribute to the building of a community with a shared future for human health.

Vladimír Simonak thanked the university for its warm reception and highly appreciated the outstanding achievements made by the university in the field of TCM. He pointed out that as a treasure of traditional medicine in the world, TCM, with its unique theoretical system and remarkable clinical efficacy, is attracting increasing attention from all over the world. The Slovak Republic holds an open and inclusive attitude towards TCM and looks forward to carrying out practical cooperation with Anhui University of Chinese Medicine in such areas as teacher-student exchanges, academic exchanges, promotion of TCM culture and appropriate TCM technologies in the future, so as to contribute to enhancing the health and well-being of the people of the two countries.

Subsequently, the delegation paid an on-site visit to the TCM Pharmacy, Tuina (Massage) Department, Acupuncture Department and Characteristic Nursing Clinic of the First Clinical Medical College of our university, and personally experienced characteristic TCM therapies such as acupuncture, tuina, cupping, scraping and auricular point therapy. The exquisite techniques and immediate therapeutic effects left a deep impression on the delegation. They frequently communicated with medical staff to gain a deep understanding of the principles and indications of various TCM therapies, and expressed sincere admiration for the profound and extensive nature of TCM.

This visit has not only enhanced the understanding of Slovak government officials towards our university and TCM culture, but also laid a solid foundation for the two sides to carry out in-depth cooperation in the field of medical and health care in the future.
