On the morning of October 9, Dean Tang Shulan and a 7-member delegation from the British Lancang TCM College visited Anhui University of Chinese Medicine (AHUCM). The delegation was warmly received by Xie Ruijin, Party Secretary of AHUCM, along with leaders from the Graduate School and the School of Humanities and International Education.

During the meeting, Xie Ruijin emphasized that Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) is a treasure of Chinese civilization, which has played an important role in safeguarding public health and well-being over the past 5,000 years. He highlighted that AHUCM had signed a cooperation agreement with Lancang TCM College to jointly train graduate students from abroad and establish the Anhui University of Chinese Medicine Manchester TCM Center. Xie expressed hope that both institutions would further deepen their understanding, enhance communication, and strengthen collaboration, particularly in developing the Manchester TCM Center as a key overseas platform. He also looked forward to expanding the influence of TCM in the UK and Europe, contributing to the well-being of humanity.

During the meeting, AHUCM also held a ceremony to appoint overseas adjunct doctoral supervisors. Wang Peng, Dean of the Graduate School, read out the decision to appoint Wan Lei and others as doctoral and master's degree supervisors at AHUCM. Xie Ruijin presented Professor Tang Shulan with a certificate of appointment as a doctoral supervisor in TCM. Tang Shulan expressed her gratitude, noting that Anhui is a place with a rich history, known for figures such as "Southern Xin'an and Northern Hua Tuo." She pledged to fulfill her responsibilities as a doctoral supervisor, to focus on character-building and rigorous academic research, and to contribute to the promotion of TCM culture overseas, supporting the international development of AHUCM.

The delegation also visited several facilities at AHUCM, including the Smart Classroom, Xin'an Medical Culture Museum, Chinese Medicine Resource Center, and the Second Clinical Medical College.
