School of Humanities and International Education Exchange Launches New Student Orientation Activities for International Students

To enhance the sense of belonging and pride among the incoming 2024 international students, promote Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) culture, and deepen their understanding of medical knowledge and the university's history, the School of Humanities and International Education Exchange organized a series of orientation activities from September 5 to 7. These activities included guided tours of the university’s Traditional Chinese Medicine Resource Center, Human Anatomy Science Museum, and University History Museum, marking the beginning of a vibrant new semester for the international students.


On the afternoon of September 5, the international students visited the University History Museum. Guided by tour leaders, they learned about the university’s development since its establishment, as well as its significant achievements in TCM education, research, community service, and international exchange. The diverse exhibits and engaging explanations provided the students with a deep appreciation of the university’s rich traditions and cultural spirit, thereby strengthening their sense of belonging and honor.


The following afternoon, September 6, the students toured the Traditional Chinese Medicine Resource Center. Tour guides provided detailed introductions to various medicinal herbs, including their names, effects, and geographic distributions. The students observed the preparation equipment and rare specimens, with particular emphasis on the traditional applications and modern pharmacological research of certain herbs. The international students showed great interest in these unique and fascinating medicinal materials, taking numerous photos and expressing that the activity deepened their understanding of TCM culture and ignited their passion for further exploring TCM knowledge.

On the morning of September 7, the students visited the Human Anatomy Science Museum to gain a comprehensive understanding of human anatomy and the history of medical development. Led by knowledgeable guides, they delved into topics ranging from specimen preparation techniques to clinical medicine. The students were especially impressed by the rare cross-sectional and plastinated specimens. They expressed that the visit enhanced their respect and love for medical science, appreciated the high-quality learning resources provided by the university, and looked forward to participating in more related activities in the future.

This series of orientation activities not only provided the international students with a deeper understanding of the university’s history and culture but also laid a solid foundation for their studies in the field of Traditional Chinese Medicine. At the conclusion of the activities, the students took group photos to commemorate the experience and expressed their eagerness to contribute to the global promotion of TCM in their future academic and professional endeavors.
